Henry Giroux: Where is the Outrage? Critical Pedagogy in Dark Times

“It's about shutting down those spaces where any articulation that in some way makes power accountable all of a sudden becomes dangerous. Thinking becomes dangerous, along with the places that produce that thinking. It seems to me that such actions suggest the need for faculty to develop forms of critical pedagogy that not only inspire and energize, they should also be able to challenge a growing number of anti-democratic practices and policies while resurrecting a radical democratic project that provides the basis for imagining a life beyond a social order immersed in inequality, degradation to the environment, and the elevation of war and militarization to national ideals.”
